I can only assume that the marriage to John Hill was a disaster as this is definitely the same Rachel George that is living with John Smith.
Can't find any John Hill/Rachel connections in 1841 or 1851.

PS. I was doing this tree for my landlady in Littlehampton who is a direct descendant of John Smith 1790 the male line are all bakers.
Mainly researching the Lees from Herts but also compiling a one name study of Culverhouse

There is a burial 06 Oct 1830 Hemel Hempstead for a John Hill age 35
Abode Two Beeches.

Witnesses were, John George & Jane Elizabeth Shepherd.

Thanks Trish and Maddie that fits in perfect, there is a 6 year gap between children's births, first 2 to Jane and the rest to Rachel, the first of them being 1836 which ties in with the 1835 marriage.
