Yes, I wondered about that marriage too, dathai. It looks so good.
In 1911, Sarah says 3 children born and living which would mean a big gap between the marriage and Mary Ann.
She may have misunderstood the census information though.

I don’t think it is the right couple.
There is a child Bryan b 1875 to Bryan and Susan.

This child dies in 1880.

Bernard and Sarah were having children elsewhere at this time.

.......and Mary Anne born in the townland of Drumgormon (sic).

Drumgorman

(Townlands.ie down - Server Error)

Margaret born September 1880 in Mountcharles.

I wonder if Sarah came from Drumgorman? The birth shows birthplace as such but residence Mountcharles. The informant was Margaret Mulloy of Mountcharles.

There is a birth  of Sarah to James and Jane (Boyle) McCahil of Dungorman - 1866
Also Edward, 1865 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1865/03573/2316594.pdf

Perhaps James is a brother to Sarah?

Thank you all for your help and search with this. It's very interesting to see what you have found (slightly annoyed I couldn't find this information :P).

At the same time as my great grandparents, there was another Bernard Molloy (maybe 2) that were from the same area, I know one was a sheriff and not sure if he was the one that married Susan. but when I found that, it gave me hope, however, the details didn't line up with the rest of the family history.

Sarah came from Drumgorman is interesting and could be true, no one seems to know anything about her so anything is possible.

If they were local to that area, I think the parish would be Inver.
There is gap 1867-1875 for marriages.
However, there should be a civil record which we can’t seem to find.  :-\

Bernard’s occupation changes quite a bit too over the years and records.

The 1901 census confirms Sarah's birth location. It gives Sarah McCahill birth location as Dungorman (they wrote it, then crossed it out and put Donegal). So it looks like James and Jane are a very high chance they are her parents.

It also confirms Bernard was born in Mountcharles.

For their marriage, it looks like it was anytime between 1874 and 1876. Sarah put down 35 years of marriage in the 1911 census but Bernard died in 1909 (not sure what date she would have stopped counting from). which of course would then sit in the gap for marriages.

Yes, I was told he claimed (passed down via word of mouth) that he was also a sea captain. But it looks like he owned cobblers in Mountcharles towards the end of his life.

::) I didn’t look at the handwritten birthplaces. The relative Maggie McCahill is also born Drumgorman
