1934 Marriage Certificate Leicester
« on: Tuesday 17 May 22 23:16 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone

I wondered if anyone could help with the 'Residence at the time of Marriage' for William Heaton? Also the when married, February 6th(?)

I see:
  • William Heaton,28,Bachelor,Electrician, 26 Hunter(?) Rd, John William Heaton, Quarry(?) Manager(?)
  • Kathleen Maisie Warren,29,Spinster,???,101 Narborough Rd, Leicester, William Henry(?) Warren, Deceased(?)

I'm assuming the residence for William will be somewhere in Leicester, though I'm not sure why they felt the need to write Leicester for Kathleen?

26 Hunter Road.

The H is the same as the H in Heaton

I'd agree with Shaun, the first letter of the name of the street is an 'H' - the same as in 'William Heaton'. So it does look a lot like 'Hunter Road'.

I see you have some other words queried.
Yes, I think William's father was a 'Quarry Manager'.
My father used to write his capital 'Qs' like this - like a number 2.
The first letter of the next word is the same as the 'M' in the bride's middle name 'Maisie', so yes, 'Manager'.
This is also the first letter of the bride's occupation which I think is 'Milliner'.

The 'H' in Heaton turns up again as the first letter of the middle name of the bride's father - so yes 'Henry' or even possibly 'Harry. He is 'dec' - deceased, as you say.

If you are also searching the bride, Kathleen Maisie Warren,  you will want to check out the article  on
page 12, entire right hand column,  of the Leicester Evening Mail 15 January 1932.  Said article also confirms her occupation as milliner, and her father (deceased Apr 1916) as William Henry Warren.
