I tried searching for just “Ebenezer 1901 Naturalization” and didn’t see his record. Even though the archives will be contacting you, I haven’t given up my search.  I don’t like to admit defeat.  I hope to find something helpful.  If not, maybe I might run across Edwin.

Ebenezer Longhurst born England in 1849 imigrated around 1891. His wife and children arrived together January 1892 but he wasn't with them on the passenger lists.

By the 1900 census he had his papers. I looked at the Delaware County Archives site and found an entry for him in 1896.

I looked through over 1000 un-indexed images on FamilySearch but couldn't find him, they are not in name or date order which isn't helpful.

Any top tips for finding his papers or when he arrived in Pennsylvania?

He arrived in New York 2 Sept. 1891, heading to Delaware County, PA

I spent several hours on Friday going through films 007786859 and 007786860.

The film you suggested is 007786862.

I suppose I might have got there eventually.

So, he did arrive 4 months before the rest of the family as I supposed.

The Delaware archives got back to me yesterday with new and clearer photos of the documents on fs.
I'm glad I reached out to them, I'm surprised with the outcome as I couldn't pay be cheque in US $. The days are long gone when you could put dollar bills in an envelope and know they would get there safely.
