problem being she's still Sloggett in 1891 or rather transcribed as Floggett!

Thank you once again Osprey for that!! And thank you too John, I also got excited about that record at one stage before remembering the 1891 census. The only other possibility is emigration, but I really really doubt as a widowed, middle-aged agricultural labourer that Ellen would have taken this route.

Unless she re-married under a false name?? Which obviously if it was the case she would still be untraceable, and I know this is not very likely either, I'm just trying to make sense of how she seemingly vanishes

I had hopes that she'd be with Richard Pascoe again in 1901 but I think he's in the workhouse in Helston.

That is a shame for them both, and a bit of a surprise as I had assumed Ellen had moved in with him with her daughters out of desperation from her own financial hardship, which is probably still the case, but clearly he was not much better off or fell on hard times.
