Marriage of Robert REASON and Bridget STUBBIN Hadleigh, Suffolk about 1707

Can anyone see a marriage for Robert REASON and Bridget STUBBIN?

The first baptism of a child of Robert & Bridget Reason I can find is that of Robert bapt 29 Apr 1708 • Hadleigh
Followed by at Hadleigh Elizabeth 1710, John 1713, at Raydon  Ellen(a) 1721, Abigail 1726
There was another daughter Bridget whose baptism I have yet to find. ( She married James Goodwin Nov 1739 so I imagine she fits between John and Ellen. )

I know from the Will of Bridget (wife of Robert Reason) that her maiden name was STUBBIN  buried January 1746.

And that Her mother was Elizabeth …… and she had a brother Edmund.
Edmund’s will reveals further siblings.  John, Josiah, and Elizabeth (wife of Jeremiah Pettit)

I can't answer this question but I to have a number of Reason's in my tree around Hadleigh including a Robert Reason who married Sarah Cottlewell in 1691, his father was Robert Reason born 1631 > Robert Reason born 1598 > Robert Reason born 1563 > Richard Reason.

Just wondered where your Robert Reason fitted in here ?

I am not sure yet.

Because Robert and Bridget had a daughter Abigail, I am thinking he could be the son of
Robert Reason who married Abigail Grimwade at Bury st Edmunds 28 Jun 1678.

However that is only a working hypothesis at present.
I haven’t even found Robert (husband of Bridget)’s death yet. Although I wonder if the 1738\1739 probate inventory for Robert Reason of Roydon (Reydon) - as listed on Suffolk Archives - is him.

That's confusing then. 

Although dates fit very nicely, the father is wrong. Unless I have made a mistake somewhere.  OR there is a transcription or recording error in the Raydon PR.

Struck through, I wasn't thinking straight.


Bridget STUBBINS has to have married before 1708, so cannot be this baptism

And the Bridget whose baptism I don't have who I was thinking it fit nicely is Bridget REASON.

Bridget is a Gaelic version of Elizabeth

I think she might be the daughter of John, the son of Josiah and Elizabeth. brother of Bridget who died 1746.
