OK this is what I've found.
I searched the B'ham AV(absent voter's) list but not there.
Searched B'ham library but they don't have them.
As Quinton was is Worcs. up to 1912 I looked at theirs & found
at 57 Frederick Rd. Warley (abt. a mile from Quinton)
a Frederick George Lee no. 85469 MGC also a Percy Augustus (b. 1898 mmn: Evans)
same address 86286 Worcs. Regt.

Just back from our little street party and thought I would look to see if any developments -- well found jim1 and also ShaunJ.

Frederick Edward / George was in the Machine Gun Corps, 7th Worcestershire Regiment (snippet images courtesy of Find MY Past)

Frederick was 1st. in the 27th. Coy followed by the 11th.
& after re-organisation the 16th. Btn. MGC.
So 27 Coy. = 27th. Bde. 11 Coy = 11th. Bde. & 16 Btn. = 16th. Div.
Again 27 Coy = Formed in 9th Division, 23 December 1915.
11 Coy. = Joined 4th Division, 23 December 1915.
16 Btn. = 16th. (Irish Div.)

thank you all all very much for all the information . i know his name was correct as it was his fathers name turned round. and he was my  mothers  brother. so know this to be correct. after that he is also on the census returns . but after the war i no no more as he apparantly left home a  short time after returning home and his mother never heard from him again. and i know this to be correct as my grandmother lived with us till her death in the late fiftes.
