Thomas hall and Jean Cosh- married 1816 Portpatrick
« on: Friday 03 June 22 15:43 BST (UK) »
I am looking for Thomas and Jean in 1841 - by then I believe they have 9 children and were possibly in the Glasgow area. I would appreciate any information please. Thomas is listed as a sawyer on some of the children's baptism records and was born c 1795 in Inch. It is also possible that he was a widower by 1851 and any help in finding the census records would be wonderful as I am floundering on this one.

Thank you

Thank you- I don't think this one is right for this tree. So far, all the children statd for Thomas hall and wife Jean/Jane match with baptism records I have found.
the entry in 1851 seems correct as it shows a now widowed thomas/John hall with his youngest 2 sons- Samuel and Alex.

So far so good!
Thomas hall  and Jane (nee Cosh) son Thomas- baptised 1822 in Stranraer married Sarah Ann Giddings in 1848 in London (his father is given as Thomas hall - cabinet maker) - and in 1851 I have located Sarah Ann Hall (nee Giddings) with their children and her sister Levinia in Southampton- but no sign of husband Thomas! I have the family 10 years later in 1861 where Thomas is a beer retailer born Scotland - and his wife Sarah Ann born Devizes- and they are still living in Southampton - which makes sense with the family knowledge through the decades after 1861.  I wonder where Thomas (born 1822 in Stranraer) was in 1851? Any ideas? Military/militia?

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
