Searching for more information about a death
« on: Saturday 04 June 22 15:02 BST (UK) »
My great-great-great grandfather David Moir drowned in the King William IV Dock in Dundee, Scotland in January 1877.

Although I don't think that his death was suspicious - it was most likely an accident or suicide - I would like to know more about what happened (the article is very short). Does anyone know where I should look?

Was there an entry on the Register of Corrected Entries (RCEs) linked to his death registration on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Added: Looking at your link and the death reg, there does look to be an RCE following his death going by the ref on the l/h side of his entry on the register.

On the image page, you can view the correction by clicking on the View 1st correction at the top of the page in blue.

As far as I can see, it doesn't tell you anything more than the death certificate does.
