yes, thank you to everyone who helped. I should have widened the birth year. I was too focused on her actual birth date from her birth certificate.
Now to investigate two other family stories. Elizabeth adopted a child of a neighbour just before adoption was regulated. The adopted boy became a police officer and informed my grandmother of the death of her nephew by marriage in 1970.
And Elizabeth had a lodger who gave her an oil painting in lieu of rent. Not sure of the date, think it may be 1920s

Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

Have you discounted that Elizabeth A Derham remarried ?

There is a Marriage in 1916 that is a possible
