Some points to consider -

At Census, 1841, Barbary BROWN is 9 years a widow. How has Barbary been supporting her young children?

At Census, 1851, Barbara BROWN, son George is a student....of what? And who is supporting them both?

Why is John Fletcher BROWN in Wales to be marrying in 1858?

What church did he marry in....what address is he living at.....what occupation does he give for father Alexander.....what names for witesses?

Can you list all the information on the marriage certificate, 1858, please.

Why John Fletcher Brown is in Wales is one of the great mysteries of my genealogy.

The info on the marriage certificate is as follows:

Church is St Michael's in Betws Y Coed

Residence is Moore House, Llandudno

Occupation is gardener

Father is Alexander Brown

Father's occupation is Butcher

Witnesses are Owen Owen and Sarah (middle name unclear) Herbert

What information do you see on the certificate for Ann JONES.

Do all parties...bride/groom/witnesses ...sign their names?

As John Fletcher Brown was a gardener, the fact that he was in Wales by 1858 may not be such a great mystery as you suggest.  Gardeners - particularly "Scotch" gardeners - were highly regarded and much sought after, often moving from estate to estate during the course of their careers.  A case in point is William Pratt, born in Ceres, Fife, in 1849, the son of a shoemaker.  By 1875 he was head gardener at Hawkstone Hall in Shropshire and by 1891 he was head gardener at Longleat in Wiltshire.

Alexander junior is apprenticed;
he is the son of Alexander senior who is the miller in Peekie.
There are no other Alexander Browns in the Fleshers Incorporation records.

Regards,
Bill
