Sorry about that, I had all the links open on my computer and got too caught up in my query to actually add them.

this is the baptism of William Furlong 05 June 1845:
https://registers.nli.ie//registers/vtls000633988#page/68/mode/1up

These are later baptisms of who I believe could be siblings, residing in the townland of Templenacrona:

Eleanor, 1848:
https://registers.nli.ie//registers/vtls000633988#page/90/mode/1up

Margaret, 1850:
https://registers.nli.ie//registers/vtls000633990#page/6/mode/1up

All of these baptisms took place in the parish of Adamstown.

I hadn’t seen the tithe applotment book of 1834, so thanks for that. It does seem as if they were always in Coolroe.

Ah that makes it so much easier.

My conclusion is that the Templenacroha family is a different one. Furlong is a common name, in Wexford at least.  That family were still there in Griffith's Valuation in 1853, farming over 40 acres, though with a poorer house than the Coolroe Furlongs.  Can't be in two places at the same time - two John Furlongs - one in Coolroe, one in Templenacroha.

Thanks Wexflyer :) perhaps then the griffiths valuation 1845-47 of Coolroe implies Williams father died young and his mother Anne took over the farm? I will have to see if there is any deaths for an Anne Furlong in Coolroe around 1880s.

Yes, that is the implication - that John died between 1845 and late 1852/early 1853. Griffith's Valuation for Co. Wexford was published IIRC around  May/June 1853.

In looking at the Ballycullane parish registers for a baptism for William, remember they are in Latin!

So would not appear as William, but Gulielmus/Guliemus, or one of their abbreviations, such as Gul, or Guliel

Have not found any matching baptisms for William, but found some Furlongs in Coolroe. Perhaps cousins of William?

Edanus (sic.) probably John, 1845:

Jacobus (James) 1847:
https://registers.nli.ie//registers/vtls000634009#page/90/mode/1up

Eleanor, 1848:

Patrick, 1849:

Edanus is correct - Latin for Aidan/Aiden

If the age on William's death registration is correct, then he was born around 1834?

There is no death registration for William - the one earlier in this thread had a wife named Jane. William's wife was Ellen. Their marriage (horrible copy) was in 1872.

William Furlong and Ellen Hennessy, 1872
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1873/11290/8142064.pdf

The last record of William is in 1885 in the Wexford Electoral registers. His youngest child, Anastasia, was born circa 1889 but there is no found record for that. Ellen was widowed by 1901 so there isnt much gap for him to die but I cant seem to find anything.
