January 1883, Notice no longer permitting foxhunting, William Furlong, Coolroe (two other William Furlongs in same notice!)

October 1885 Biddulph Estate tenants, Tintern request 25% reduction on rent, including William Furlong, Coolroe.

May 1886. The Queen V. William Furlong, Coolroe, for assault on James Furlong, his uncle.

1892 - William Furlong of Templenacrow mentioned - confirming this is a different William/family

Summary - William Furlong of Coolroe appears in many newspaper articles up to May 1886, but none thereafter.  (I did not list all the articles - there are many).

August 1896 - report of Land Commission setting of judicial rent for the Colclough Estate in Tintern, including Ellen Furlong in Coolroe. So she was a widow by this point.

Yes I had seen the "The Queen v. William Furlong" It is very interesting to think what kind of injuries he may have caused to be sued by the army on behalf of the queen.

That 1896 report is very interesting, thanks.

Many Coolroe tenants were evicted by 1892 - A book was may have been written about this -  but I am probably confusing this with another famous eviction - Coolgreany.
The evicted Coolroe tenants included both Furlongs and Hennessey - did you establish where exactly Ellen was from? Does not look like your specific Furlong famiily were evicted, but may have been caught up?

Ellen Hennessys family were from Garrycullen, a neighbouring townland. But in the tithe applotments 1834 there is also a Patrick Hennessy in Coolroe so perhaps they were from both.
