ANSTIE of Dulverton
« on: Thursday 09 June 22 16:40 BST (UK) »
Hello
is anyone researching the ANSTIE family of Dulverton? I have looked at Parish Records from 1558 and suspect ROBERT and JOANE are the parents of JOHN [  - 1590], WILLIAM [   -1598] AND  DAVID [     -1597].
I cannot go back any further, I don't know where these men were baptised.  A source tells me that they came to Somerset from Cambridgeshire. But why would they? Does anyone know of a link between the two counties?
many thanks

Avril

Not my family thought the name rang a vague bell. I presume you are convinced for some reason that the three men (brothers?) died/were buried as you say and that they are not the

John - baptised Dulverton 1559 son of William, or
John - baptised Dulverton 1564 son of John, or
John - baptised Dulverton 1571, son of David, or
William- baptised Dulverton 1574 son of John, or
David - baptised Dulverton, 1599 son of Richard

What makes you think their father was a Robert?

Don't know of any particular link between Somerset and Cambridge in the 16th century but people did move around, perhaps for agricultural work..

Not much help, sorry
Somerset: Poole, Hutchings/Hutchin(s), Harvey/Harvie, Bullen
