rae family kirkintilloch
« on: Sunday 12 June 22 21:58 BST (UK) »
Hi to all

Does anyone know or heard of these names. Particularly Isabella Rae. They are from and lived in kirkintilloch.
If so can you let me know if there is any photographs of her with a young girl
called Jean from Glasgow. Date around 1925-26.

Many Thanks in advance
fraggle

If Isabella Rae (nee Dunlop) was your great grandmother & Jean was your grandmother - they should be mother & daughter.  So why is Jean surname Dunlop?

When was Jean born?

Jeans mother died 3 weeks after giving birth to her, but jeans father is Dunlop.
Jean was born in Milton Glasgow. My gran never talked of her past and I have been looking into this x

If Jean was your g/m who were her mother & father & when was Jean born?

Was Isabella Dunlop/Rae a relation who brought Jean up?

Could she have been a sister to Jean's father?

When looking for info. on people you need to give precise details in the proper context.

Your query is a bit of a riddle as it doesn't make sense...the dots don't join up.

Hi this is what I know so far, because my gran never talked about her past its kinda hard. Anne ( Bennett) Dunlop and Thomas Dunlop are both Jeans parents. Anne died 3 weeks after giving birth to her. Then after that nothing until my dad and my auntie both children of Jean told me about my great Gran isabella Rae. There is nothing in between. there is nothing of my gran being adopted as I have been through the GRO. I do not know what relation gran rae is to Jean or Thomas. I have searched records but nothing. The only thing I discovered was her first name Isabella and family on the censors. This is why it is so much of a puzzle. Myself and my family just don't know. Like I say Jean never talked about her family past.

When and where was Jean born? Have you got her birth certificate?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
