Indeed, it would be a lot of coincidences not to be the same family. I'm not seeing baptisms for the children which suggests the families could be nonconformist.

Possible family for John in Llangamarch. I can't see a baptism for him, but there are 2 non-conformist baptisms

Gosen Chapel, Llangamarch
12 March 1814 Ann dau of Rees Morgans, farmer, & Ann formerly Prothero of Corin(?), Llangamarch
29 Oct 1818 Elizabeth dau of Rees Morgans, farmer, & Ann formerly Prothero of Maesgwyn, Llangamarch

1841 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M77X-ZPV

Marriage in Llangamarch
2 Dec 1801 Rees Morgan & Ann Prythero, both marked.

Thank you.
Rees Morgan is a witness at John’s  marriage to Ann (Mary Ann) Jenkins. Another coincidence if not the same family.
Thank you all so much.

In case you haven't seen it, the parish register for the marriage of John & Mary Ann notes John as a miner.

Yes I have but thank you.
They all seem to be miners 🤣

I didn’t have the Jenkins name until Amondg found it.
And now all these other clues certainly make this all seem more likely than not.
Doing the tree for my friend. Helpful ‘uncommon’ surnames like Morgan/ Jenkins/ Thomas/ Lloyd and Griffiths in Wales 🤣🤣🤣

There's an inquest into the death of a John Morgan from Cwmrhos Tredegar in 1865 - found with all his clothes burnt in a shed where he was sleeping after a late night at the Greyhound Inn. No age though, and I note Ann says she's married on 1871

Ooh. Interesting! He does seem to be missing on several censuses. I did find a John Morgan as a boarder (need to find it again) but it says he’s a quarryman rather than a miner.

There are two Bedwelty deaths for John Morgan born about 1813. One is 1876 and the second is 1878. The latter is a coal mining accident from a coal fall at Ebbw Yale Colliery No 4. That’s only a two mile walk from Tredegar. I’ll see if there’s anything in burial records if I can find them.
