General B. Jones 172678 Royal Artillery.

Looked up the number and B Jones
This seems to only give his medal cards.
Bertram Jones gunner Royal artillery
He got the British and Victory medal but not the Star.
There is no service record for that number.

There is one for a Bertrum Jones 845983 Royal Artillery from Wednesbury.
He signed up 11th Sep 1918 was a craman aged 22.
There are a lot of blanks on there so if he is your man it might not be much help.
Give a shout if you think it is him.
