Alfred Spicer 1913 - 1980

The above was cremated on the 9th April 1980 at Liverpool Crematorium.
Against the cause of death it shows 'Form E signed by Coroner for Liverpool, District of Merseyside dated 8/5/80 BID to Liverpool Royal Hospital'.
I haven't found any newspaper articles and the Liverpool Libraries Archives only have inquest records up to 1970. Can anyone suggest any other online sources I could try? Note Does BID mean brought in dead?

Looking at the cremation register it strikes me as odd that the same writer has used the acronym BID for Mr Spicer (entry no. 532) but then has used DOA for entry no. 534.

Whilst DOA is now generally understood to refer to incoming patients who are 'dead on arrival', during my time as a casualty porter in the late 60's/early 70's such patients were always referred to as being 'brought in dead'.

As to the inquest, there may be more information to be found on the death certificate - as it could be that the coroner may have adjudicated the matter without the need to take further evidence or to hold a public hearing.
