Aberystwyth Cliff Railway
« on: Friday 24 June 22 19:32 BST (UK) »
I have some info . regarding the build of the railway and a family photograph from within the book
' The Album Guide to Aberystwyth ' printed in 1896 . Is this available in the local history library , are there copies out there than can be scanned / printed ?
Are there any of your past family members that worked on its build ?
I am looking to obtain info . on whether the labourers were ' shipped ' in or if local labourers and firms were utilised . How many were employed to build it ?There are pieces online that seem to just replicate similar information but nothing I have found about the build itself and challenges that were encountered .
Trying to add to my family story as George George was the blasting expert employed by George Croydon Marks on this and many other projects .
I know a great amount of information on George George himself but am interested in particular on this build itself .
