I believe the mother's name is probably Bridget TIGHE

There is the marriage of James FARRELL to Bridget TEIGH in Victoria in 1849.
On the birth regos of children her name is spelled most often as TIGHE and also as TAIGE

A Bridget TIGHE arrived in NSW in 1848 onboard “Lady Kennaway”. She was a 16 yr old housemaid from Mayo.

Ah, yes when I saw the Sylvester Tye, I had thought, if they're Irish, it's probably Tighe and wondered if it was a family name, possibly his mother... I filed away in my mind to search for various Tighes/Tyes etc, so thank you for that record, that'll be good to follow that up! Much appreciated!

William was a 28 yr old miner - She knocked quite a few years off her age!!  She was 46 when they married.  Wonder how she explained her children's ages??

I just noticed some other supporting info, over on my other post about Olive Wade's father Thomas here: https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=863487 - that at Olive's birth, her mother, Ellen Kennedy, has a "Mrs Davis" present. That hadn't previously meant anything to me, but now I think it was most likely her mother, Jane Davis.

She's probably not the one who takes on Olive after Ellen dies though.

Ah there we are. That's definitely her.
Syl Kennedy is either her son Sylvester Tye/Tighe or HIS son Sylvester.
Mr & Mrs Chantler are most likely her eldest daughter Adella/Addella & husband or their son Richard.
Mr & Mrs W. Stubbs would be one of her younger daughters Ethel & William Stubbs.
The Hickeys are most likely her daughter Bridget & Thomas, or their son Thomas...
I don't know who Mrs J. Brown is, but most likely a granddaughter...

From this I was able to find one of Ellen's younger sisters, Bridget, had married a Thomas Hickey in 1890, and three of their possible children but haven't looked too far into that line.

I have a list of probable Kennedy children of Archibald and (Mary) Jane's from the BDM index.
You can see from other posts in this topic that Jane's father was James FARRELL from their Marriage cert and we believe her mother was Bridget Tye/Tighe (and various other spellings) which would lend support to Sylvester Tye and Bridget being two of Jane's children. Also that Jane divorces Archie and remarries William J Davis.

We now know that Jane DAVIS takes care of her granddaughter Olive WADE from about 1903-5 (from Neale's link https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/231843800?searchTerm ) so I'm now looking further into this line.

Well I was wrong about that! She IS the one who takes on Olive, so am now looking further into that.
