Have you looked at the entry on the 1939 register for the Elsie L Young whose surname was later amended to Searls.

Maybe it would worth getting the marriage certificate for William and Elsie, it should name her father.

Maybe she was just staying with her son by the previous marriage in her later years.  :-\

The newspaper articles are available on the British newspaper archive website, it is possible to get copies of I believe 3 items on a trial sub.   They are also available through FindMyPast.  She is referred to as Mrs Furness Young, her husband Evelyn was Evelyn Furness Young.
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01rnr/

The 1939 register shows her as married - born in 1906, full date as already mentioned. The full date of birth ties in with that on the Lancashire death.  The entry has the husband we have already mentioned and 2 blacked out entries which would indicate people still living, I suspect that the first is possibly a son born 1932 Ticehurst reg district  who she is with on electoral registers in Lancashire shortly before she dies.  The son also had the second name F....  and he died in Lancashire in 2011

I use my local library for Ancestry access.
And my local Archives/Museum for FindMyPast access.

Will go to my local library next time i go into my local town shopping, and look up 1939 register. and i will look for the newspaper articles.
It would be a lot easier if someone from that generation of the family was still alive, and you could ask the questions that you want answers too.
thanks Rosie and KGarrad for telling  me where i might find some info
