Help where to look

I'm not giving the name as it is possible the lady may be alive (in her 90s)

In the late 1960s my aunt went into a mental institution (so family legend has it), she lived in Birmingham - I don't know if this was voluntary or not

Can't find any trace of a death for her, I don't think she ever divorced (husband has now died)

Anyone have any ideas of where I could look to find answers?

Let's try another route. Who did your aunt marry, what year and when did he die. We might be able to help without naming names of possible living.

She married Raymond Curley in 1962, he died last June

Their son born the following year is alive but knows nothing on his birth certificate she does use the full version of her name, but her birth certificate is in a short form (and her marriage is in another - only 1 letter different) - so it is possible any admission and/or death registration could be in either of the names

Her mother Lilian Voss died in 1935 then her father Horace Simpson remarried 3 years later before dying in 1959 - she may have been in a children's home after her mother's death

You could search GRO online - if she died before 2020 it will be shown

14.12.2014 - a Betty Christine Curley b 1930 died  Birmingham
