Joseph is single according to that marriage record.
Perhaps Elizabeth and Mary are the same person.

Father in law may also mean step father

James Henderson ‘father in law’ though is very difficult to trace before and after 1871.

If that marriage is correct, and you would have to check, why would he marry Elizabeth in 1869 but live with Mary in 1871?

I've just gone to print that Young marriage off and at the side there were some births, I clicked on John Henry who was 1 yr in 1871 census and Elizabeth was his mother. There are 3 more children born before 1869 when he married Elizabeth. William,Edmund and Elizabeth, 61.63 and 65 they were born. Mary is on here as Joseph's wife. I thought did Elizabeth have these to her last husband and gave them the Fearon name, if so who is Mary.

I have seen instances where a woman (or man for that matter) is called by one name and then another.
It might be an error on the census too.
At the moment we have no idea.

I have tried to search for those births but nothing definite and for later sightings in censuses or marriages.

The William born 1861 is now William B Clarke stepson in 1881. It's driving me nuts, I will call it a day on this one for now, thanks for all your help.
