1911 census should also say how many children born & how many living.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

If you look at 1901 census for James and Mary Hughes - house number 8
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Armagh/Crossmaglen/Dundalk_Street/1022422/

And then Dundalk Street you have:
Peter and Margaret Martin - number 3 house
Hughes family - number 4 house
Martin - number 10

They may be related - but maybe not. However, worth noting and perhaps searching out.

I thought Peter would be too young to be Catherine’s brother.

Will the marriage link not open at all? It does for me.
21st April 1896
Bride  Bridget McCoy 19yrs
Father James Hughes, labourer

Didn't have Thomas 1863. Thank you so much

Wonder if Mary is sister of James?
Likely

"George died in 1916 in France."

Can you identify this death please.....where?......what date?

What names and ages do you have for children of HUGHES and Mary DEVLIN?
