Word in marriage certificate?

Does anyone know what word might be under the father Laurence McAteer's name? I'm familiar with the rest of the record but unsure why he has an extra word under his name. Doesn't look like the usual "deceased" that sometimes pops up.

Attached the whole cert for handwriting reference. Thanks!

I think it is meant to read ‘living’. although I can see Eoin too  :)

Is this his death in 1885?

The other entries on the page show ‘living’ or ‘dead’ apart from 2 entries which have neither.
