Patrick Doyle, Windy Arbour
« on: Monday 11 July 22 22:07 BST (UK) »
Hi folks, back again with another query ::) I think researching very common names will be the death of my patience.

Im looking for a Patrick Doyle, who is named as such on his son's marriage cert and also marked as deceased.

Timothy Doyle marries Catherine Canavan in 1877 in Sandymount, Dublin.
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01ron/

Catherine and Timothy later appear in the 1901 census both being noted as born in Dublin. When Catherine appears on a later census as a widow she says she is from Wexford (which is correct) so Timothy may also be from wexford, (although he could also be from dublin and just forgot where his wife was from  ::) )

1901

1911

So looking for any assistance finding this Doyle family. Such as Timothy's mothers name, a death for her etc. I think this is Patrick's death:

I have all later information however cant see to get back from this. Thanks!

I can't help but wonder about this couple.
No son named Patrick?
No daughter named Elizabeth (if the baptism I found is the correct one)

And the 1911 census shows daughter Mary born Wexford. Have you found her birth? (where/when?)
Surely that would go a way to resolving things?

On FS there is a Mary Doyle, dau of Timothy and Catherine Canavan Doyle born on 17/3/1878 at Gorey Co Wexford.

Here is the link to the birth Irish Genealogy

Timothy's residence is still Dundrum so they/she may have gone home for the birth.

This looks to be, or could be, Catherine's father, James, in Kilmurry, a townland just outside Gorey, in 1852.
http://census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/vob/IRE_CENSUS_1821-51_007246833_00318.pdf

Griffith's Valuation in 1853 says he was the only James Canavan in the Barony, and held a farm of just over 15 acres from the Earl of Courtown. [That is, he was the only James Canavan holding rateable property]

Thanks for the link on James, hadn't seen it. Timothy and Catherine did have a son Patrick, he married Margaret Hanlon just prior to the 1901 census and is living close to them:

Patrick and Margarets first child however, was named Edward Joseph, so I don’t know where they got that from. (the brides father was James)
