Francombe, Tirley, Glos
« on: Tuesday 12 July 22 16:55 BST (UK) »
Hi, has anyone researched the Francombe family in Tirley in the 1500s / 1600s? I'm stuck at John Francombe d.1609, father of Christopher, Thomas and Elianor, his wife was Elizabeth. I've seen other trees on Ancestry but there's no supporting info. Anyone know this family?

Thanks!

The Forest of Dean Family History Forum Marriage Bonds do have Francombe from Tewxbury, Tyrly etc.  Best to use the Soundex on the surname and don’t put in any place name as it’s all spelt differently.

e.g. 6 Feb 1638

John Francombe aged 23 Batchelor residence Tewxbury

Sara Crumpe 18 Spinster ….  Tewxbury

By licence

Bondsman John Willis, Tewxbury Collar maker 22

Old style date 1637/8

Hi Capetown, thanks for responding.

Are you able to share a link for the marriage bonds? I went to the FHT site but can't locate the records you mention. I'm being dim, I'm sure, but would be grateful if you could post a link!

thanks
 :)
