There is the burial of another William Hopkin of Trosserch in 1824 age 82. So perhaps this is the William Hopkin(s) Thomas Braithwaite William Lott was referring to. Presumably the father of William Hopkin who died in 1827 and therefore possibly of Mary Lott (presumed Hopkin) who died in 1814.

I purchased the declaration document.

It confirms William Hopkin (elder) is the William Hopkin that Thomas identifies as his grandfather.

William the Elder marries a Mary Davies of Llangunllo (Mrs Davies of Kefen Suran, Llangunllo, Radnorshire)

Thomas states he has witnessed a bible which contains details of William and Mary’s chidren and on his grandparents.

Mary Hopkin (Thomas’s mother) born Tuesday, 05 Nov 1773 between the hours 11 and 12 at night.

William Hopkin (Thomas’s uncle) born 22 June 1776 at 3:38 pm

Mary Davies was the Dau of Nathaniel Davies of Kefen Suran was born 14 Feb 1752 and married William Hopkin on 24 Nov 1772 in the parish church of Llangunllo and died 17 Day Of January 1780 aged 27 years 11 months and 3 days and was interned in the parish church of Llangennech.
