Catholic Church's in or near Bloomsbury, London
« on: Friday 29 July 22 07:14 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone, One of my husbands ancestors states on her 1851 census she was born in Bloomsbury, London and as her parents where born in Ireland I think she and his siblings where baptised in a Catholic Church within the Bloomsbury district. So is there a Catholic Church Archives in London who I can contact to see if they hold parish registers for the Bloomsbury area of London. Many Thanks in advance for any help given.

What address is given on the Birth Certificate?
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Probably best to try Roman Catholic Diocese of Westminster?

Maybe the Church of Christ the King, Bloomsbury?

or St Ethelreda's, Holborn?
In 1820 the chapel was taken over by the National Society for the Education of the Poor who hoped to convert the Irish Catholic immigrants then settling in the area.

The baptism for Mary Louise Healy born about 1826 could be 2 years either side.
