As for the mothers Maiden name my 2x great grandmother as I got named "Martha Choat" parents (my 3x great grandparents) were Benjamin Choat and Mary M Winch.

So why would Martha maiden name be listed as her mothers maiden name? Any ideas?

1881 census
Piece   1804
Folio   122
Page number   3

she has her name as Choat???

The birth registration of Daisy Lily Cooper has a mother’s maiden name of WINCH not CHOAT

    Name:   Mother's Maiden Surname:
COOPER, DAISY  LILY     WINCH
GRO Reference: 1895  M Quarter in HALSTEAD  Volume 04A  Page 695

Have you got her birth certificate?

Strange you are right I found Daisy's official birth certificate (not a copy) I found it in my grandfathers (Daisy's daughter's husbands) desk that was imported across the world to where I live.

on Daisy's birth cert under mothers name it says "Martha Cooper formally Winch"

Does this mean Mary M Winch is Martha's mother but Benjamin Choat may not be the father??? or did they just have her before getting married which was a bad thing back then?

Benjamin Cooper born October ?? 1882 / 83 in Halstead, Essex, England. died ??? married ??? kids??? I have nothing of him after 1911 census where he was living with his parents in Ridgewell.
I found a bunch of people with the same name and can't figure out which is the right person.
Benjamin COOPER born 2 Apr 1882 – he never married.
In the late 1930s, he is an inmate (‘incapacitated) in a hospital in Saffron Waldon, Essex.
