Eleanor Margaret Shimmin circa 1873

can anyone give me information about the ancestors of Eleanor Margaret Shimmin born about 1873 in Santon.  She married William Thomas Faragher in September 1896

The marriage register is available on Family Search;  her father shown as John Shimmin; a farmer.

You could try looking for a baptism on Family Search or google what records the Isle of Man has available online.

William Corris 70 butcher German I of Man
Anne 28 neice butcheress German
Eleanor neice 15 servant Patrick
Eleanor Shimmon 7 neice scholar Santon I of Man

It looks like William's parents 26.1.1812 German William Corris and Eleanor Shimin .
So is John  Eleanor's brother or nephew making Eleanor a great niece?

Eleanor Elizabeth Shimon 29.10.1874 d of John and Mary Anne innkeeper Santon
at Braddon St Barnabus

And the marriage gives her of Broadway Douglas father John a farmer.Not that he couldn't have changed proffessions and served his produce from the Farm in the Pub.

If you're struggling to find a baptism and a census record with her with her parents it could be that they died or she might have been illegitimate. There was a Margaret Ann Shimmin of Foxdale who had an illegitimate child baptised in Patrick parish in 1874 not far from Santon and her child was Eleanor Mary Shimmin quite close to Eleanor Margaret Shimmin.
