Thanks for the explanation of transfiguration day
I was imagining Jesus transforming and couldn't imagine .

I too am intrigued by traffic light day ..made traffic light biscuits at school once .

I thought the opposite and would give traffic lights a rest and not press any buttons but let them change naturally
I only recently discovered that there is a button under the.box that turns to show blind people when the lights have changed ...as the beeps can be confused with motorbike indicators

Here's a sisterly greeting in Swedish for
tomorrow ( from my Swedish sister )

"Tro på dig själv, lika mycket som du får mig att tro på mig själv!" 💕😊

It means  "Believe in yourself, as much as you make me believe in myself!"

And I forgot to mention that August 7th is also "preposterous packaging day "   who makes these things up .
I've got a flamingo watering can I'd like to post to a friend ..that would need preposterous packaging!

High on my all-time list of preposterous packaging is a pair of rubber gloves. I opened the packet to find that they were displayed on a rigid plastic frame; the reason for it baffled me.

Belated happy Yorkshire day, did spot that at start of week on previous thread.

1 August was also International Scout Scarf Day, more aware of it as miss 8 granddaughter sent a photo of her happily wearing hers when she went off to school having just 'flown' up to cubs with her Sea Scout group.

Seems now to be days for any and every 'occasion'
preposterous packaging could be any day, certainly numerous occasions that warrant it!

Corker day here, or as mum would have said "glorious" , out and about getting some lovely country air and views on a work trip and visit to favourite op shop, adding some sea air at our picnic lunch stop. Tide was half out and so many kingfishers going about getting their lunch  :)

One of husband's brothers must be making most of the day as well, staying a couple of nights at their late dad's place alongside us and expecting him from the north early in day to set himself up, probably the golf course was a better proposition.

Watched my daughter's friend's race a the Commonwealth games in the evening..

That  must  have  been exciting for your daughter to watch her friend, hope she was placed well,  even  more exciting if she comes  home with a medal but it is the taking part that is more important, not everyone can get a medal

MS  do you think they were a display pair and the person forgot to take them off the frame?

Very exciting.  Think we were more nervous than the competitors.  Came 5th but with a new PB.

Well done , personal PB, that is good, my granddaughter used to swim for the county in clubs, mostly did her PB but only ever came up 2nd but she was pleased with her personal best, they can only do their best and I am sure they always know if they have,my son in law  stupidly promised her £5 for each PB, one session she got 3, that will teach him!!!
I imagine you and your family jumping up and down with glee watching
Exams, I tell my granddaughter to do her best I am sure she does, a clever kid to be honest, just got her BSC  only last week, well you have heard me talk about it , don't want to bore people

Enjoy your day folks

Glad you enjoyed it Pharma.
The Commonwealth Games are really something , something to be proud of .
Small Island countries competing.

How lovely to know someone taking part and them getting a Personal Best.

Thanks.
Viktoria.
