1841 census the family is on Dover Street and William listed as Hotel Keeper.

The fire took place 1845 Dover Street it was called Raggett's Hotel ref: the inquest.

The names of the children Frederick, George and daughter Ann 37 who died and mother Ann who was rescued by George all fit the same family.

Anything more you will need lease agreements etc probably in private hands.

Thank you - yes I have all of this. I am just wondering if it is possible to find the location or any info at all on Hall House- i am sure it will not be Pytchley Hall itself as I do not think there was that degree of money on the family background if I have the right William. However there was upper end middle class social status with his parents at that time in Surrey. Any glimmers of ideas always welcome!! Would there be any directories around for that period that may list him either as an innkeeper or some capacity in the Pytchley area to give me a hint?
Many thanks

Shaun’s reply #5 along with ad says “ "The Pytchley Hall House"... contact Wm Ragget to view.....”
which implies The Pytchley Hall House and Hall House may be one and the same.

I may be wrong but I would think that having a pub in Dover Street means William was fairly comfortably off.

Are there any other references to William Raggett mentioned anywhere else in the Pytchley area? I have reason to believe that by 1830 he and the family had moved to London to manage a hotel as a tenant manager.

There is another advertisement for an auction of household furniture etc of William RAGGETT in May 1830 at the Fox and Hounds Public House, Pytchley. (Not sure if this means this is the site of the furniture etc, I think it is, or whether the auction was merely held there?) Here's a link to the image
