Anyone got a clue what this says? I used to work for GP's and am usually good at deciphering this stuff but this one has me stumped.

Looks like Phyalism 14 days certified

That was my initial thought too, but if you look at the t in certified it is the same as the second letter of Ptyalism.

Maybe she/he had some sort of salivary gland tumour

It was an old man of 83, you might be right though, it could also be from eating something poison, like red clover,  would have thought there should be a second cause noted though.
