Was the father of your Andrew named James?

Can you please do a timeline so we know what we are following as 'fact' as it gets confusing the longer the thread becomes with different info.

John Love was born in 1802 Head Street Beith. He married Margaret Kerr on 22 June 1829.
John's Parents were Robert Love and Elizabeth Steil ( Steel)
Margaret's Parents were  Andrew Kerr and Janet Rodger (from her Death cert.)
They had Children;
Janet  1830 (have to find her birth)
Elisabeth  died in her 5th year
Robert died in the 26th year of  age (1851 census has him b 1842)
Andrew 1846  ( He did not marry  Agnes Currie. )
John 1849  married Jane Muir. John died in 1829 and Jane died in 1832.
William was born in 1852 and died in 1878.

I am trying to locate the children, not worried about their family's yet. I can branch out later.

What info do you have on Andrew coming forward on census, occ. or anything else e.g. a witness to a marriage or any other info?

When / where do you lose sight of him?

I only have him on the 1851 census aged 5 born Beith, Living in Mitchel Street with siblings and parents.

Just brought up the 1861 census Living at 51 Mitchel Street. He is a cotton weaver

The other son of John and Margaret LOVE as seen on the census:
Andrew LOVE born abt 1846 Beith married Agnes CURRIE in 1864 Glasgow.
Andrew is with his family until 1881 census, but is not in the 1891 census.
His death is a bit of a mystery too – I could not see anything on SP.

Are you sure this is not your Andrew?

I purchased the marriage and Andrews's father was James Love and his mother was Jeanie Love m.s. Love.
I download all my certificates even if they are wrong as they may fit later on when I expand my Tree.
Having a look at 71, now I know how to get them.

Edit Sorry it was the death that I got.

1871 Living at 8 Mitchel Street Beith is John And Margaret Love with sons John aged 23 and William aged 19
So Andrew left his family between 1861 and 1871.
I brought the death certificate for  Andrew
