« on: Tuesday 16 August 22 20:51 BST (UK) »
I wish to alter theTitle of a thread that I am composing in The Common Room from

Lucy Annie Wise b. 1870

To
Lucy Annie Wise b. 1870 & An Encounter with the Drift Road

I have tried to contact a Moderator but can not remember which e-mail that I am registered to the forum with.

Can anybody please suggest a work-around ?

Edit
It seems that my post has been moved by somebody that has the power to address my request I hope that my post can be sorted with their help.

Presume this is the post

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=864982.msg7350945#msg7350945

Why is the addition to the header so important?  Do you know that it will not appear on all the replies - only on your original post?

The OP was made over 24 hours ago. It was only when certain facts were made apparent to me I experienced something of a Revelation and I became infused with other ideas on the direction that I wanted to take the OP.

It transpired that the post was moved to the Berkshire section, which although it is indicated on my family name interests that would be the logical place to position the thread I wanted to turn it into a multi purpose thread, to tell my family history as it comes to mind, to try make contact with anybody who knew anything about anybody mentioned and might be able to inform me of further info. It could be that they could be anywhere in the world and have no idea that they are connected with Berkshire Therefore it sees to me that the best approach for me to take to reach my target audience may be to have same thread running in two places in order to give it its best chance of reaching those with some connection or other. Confused ? It’s getting late, I am. I will have to wait and see what the morrow brings on this. Have a good night and sleep well. N

"Same thread running in two places" will cause lots of confusion and extra work for everyone probably even with posting links to each other.
If you need to make changes or have a problem simply click on the 'report to moderator' button and ask for help. You do not need to know your registered email address for this but if you wish to check simply click on 'profile' then 'account settings.'

Thanks for that aghadowey.
I am working my way through what I think may be as close as I can get to the facts
Presetly checking out what it true and questionable and amending it as I go along.
One problem that have is that my data is all over the place and I want to consolidate it in my own way. It may seem a strange way of going about things, there has always been a divide between inductive and deductive thinking. Although the deductive variety tends to be much more reliable, it rarely uncovers the facts that can very occasionally be found by intuitive inductive lateral thinking.    In the light of the difficulty two threads would cause the forum please reinstate my op https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=864982.msg7350489#msg7350489
