William Martin Flegg - certificate looking for a home
« on: Thursday 18 August 22 14:36 BST (UK) »
I have been given a certificate qualifying William Martin Flegg as a solicitor in her majesty's high court of chancery from 1875, that a friend of mine bought at auction.  I'm keen to give it to a descendant if possible and although I've been in touch with some potential descendants via Ancestry, I thought I'd try RootsChat too.  I found the four children of William and have done some digging into their families, but I have not verified any living family members, so can anyone help, or are you a Flegg?

Hi Nigel

There is a very comprehensive family tree for this family here www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/76794075/person/192215609057/facts

I don't know if you have a subs to be able to view it.

You would think it very likely belongs to a direct descendant or someone who has a close connection to the family given the amount of work that has been put in to collating and researching the different lines.

Hi Monica,

That tree was one of those I contacted and this is the answer I got;

Many thanks for reaching out. William Martin Flegg is related to me but distantly. He's my 2nd cousin 5xremoved.

Thanks for the suggestion
