Martha Jane Gambold- Last seen in Lydbrook 1918
« on: Friday 19 August 22 12:46 BST (UK) »
Martha Jane Morgan b Bedwellty Mon. 1891 married George Edmund Gambold in Bedwellty 1911.
They are on the 1911 Census Living with her family.
George Died in 1918 at Gloucester Royal Infirmary.  Probate record says he was inn keeper of the Crown and Sceptre Lydbrook, administration granted to his widow Martha Jane.

That is the last record I can find of her. What happened to her?
I'm hoping a fresh pair of eyes can spot her.

Thanks

amondg & Capetown

Thanks for finding those.
Just checked with the wife and her family and they didn't know that George Edmund had children.

I’ve just been looking at British Newspapers on line, and in the Gloucester Journal Saturday 19 October 1918, is a full report of the Coroner’s Enquiry into the death of Edwin George Gambold.  Martha has stated he was a mine timber man at the Old Engine Colliery .  Seems an axe slipped in his hand and he cut his leg.  He had it amputated but died of heart failure and septicaemia.

It’s quite a long article.
