Fraser family Ardersier
« on: Saturday 20 August 22 20:05 BST (UK) »
Hi! I'm researching my family tree and hitting a brick wall on the Frasers. My great Grandfather was James Fraser born March 1906. I found most of the siblings but I'm told one of them died in his teens in a shooting accident. I think his name was Robin. Any tips or info would be amazing!

Yes. I've found nothing. Apparently it was never talked about. The only thing I can think is that my Aunt (the only living Fraser that I'm in touch with) has got the name wrong but with a name like Fraser, its not easy to research! I'm hoping someone from the area will gice me a clue now!

The father name was D Fraser - what did D stand for ?

Haven't found a newspaper link which I though there might be with a shooting accident.

Hi Rebecca

This is your tree here isn't it? www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/178433235/person/212397852381/facts

Big gap in births between James in 1906 to 8 further births from 1919. Have you checked the family's 1911 census entry? I think you have daughter Margaret's birth maybe wrong on your tree. She shows as aged 72 when she died in 1982, so born c. 1910 rather than 1920 I would suggest. The 1911 census will help with this. You will get confirmation up to 1911 of how many children they had up to 1911 and how many were alive/deceased up to then.

Mother's maiden name of WOFFINGTON certainly help to identify deaths post 1975 when mother's maiden name is now included in the index.

Ardersier gravestone only mentions Donald and wife Isabella https://billiongraves.com/grave/Donald-Fraser/30889241

Wonder if other family members are buried here?
