I have recently come across this. I have no idea where it came from! I just found it amongst stuff I was clearing out. James Kemp is not in my tree. If he is in yours, I will happily send this to you.

Thank you. Yes, I guess this is him. But why do I have a memorial ribbon??!!! My family are from St Helens. I suppose someone went to his funeral , kept the ribbon, and someone else thought I might like it because of my interest in family history. I have been doing fh now for 50 years, and really cannot recall being given it. I would love to pass the ribbon on to a descendant who would treasure it.

Two trees on Anc have James b 1857 Denton, one in England the other in Canada. Trees are very sparse, minimum info.

Son, Samuel married a Mary Ann Smith. There appears to be only 1 child, Gladys, born 1908.(1911 & 1921 census) I think she married a Stanley Fletcher in 1929.

Son, Edward married an Edith Oldham. 1911 census shows a daughter, Marion, born 1907. 1921 shows a Harold also, born 1912.

Edward died 1915, Gallipoli
