Have you looked at the originals?

I think Evans is a cab proprietor.
Peden is a car owner
McSweeny is a car man

I did but must have read the b or r in Cab/Car as a t by mistake. Makes sense now. Thanks

The original does indeed say Cab, but the enumerator was a bit stingy with his b's  ;D
