John Graham FLYNN WW1 1917
« on: Friday 26 August 22 15:50 BST (UK) »
JOHN GRAHAM FLYNN died on 8 Jan 1917 after service with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He died at Ferbane where he was (post-discharge) serving as a Petty Sessions Clerk, as was his late father, John Henry Flynn.
John Graham's father died on 19 July 1910 and is buried at Ferbane Church of Ireland (now derelict). His sister Lily was married in the same church on 15 May 1912. All logic would suggest that John Graham Flynn should be buried there also but there is no trace of him in the church Burial Register. I don't know when the church was abandoned but burials took place there up until the 1980s, at least.
Can anyone suggest where John Graham Flynn is likely to be buried, if not in Ferbane??

Don't have any evidence re mother's death. But have discovered that his parents -John Henry Flynn and Anne Jane Graham -were married on 13 Feb  1879 in Ferbane Parish Chhurch.
All the indicators keep pointing back to Ferbane. Wonder if there's a Flynn gravestone?

Hi Heywood. That is very interesting. Do you have access to the Funeral report of 27 Jan? If yes, the big question - does it say where the burial took place?

Also, thank you, Kiltaglassan for all your help.

His sister Lily was married in the same church on 15 May 1912.

Lily Flynn married Henry Charles Blane. Her younger sister, Charlotte Mary Flynn was one of the witnesses.
