Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for blood relatives of First Engineer William John Kennedy - Mercantile Marine - 4/1/1917 - The Commission are in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave. Sunderland Bishopwearmouth Cemetery.

Commonwealth War Graves shows: "KENNEDY, 1st Engr. William John. "Lonclara" (London). Killed by mine 4th Jan., 1917. Age 50. Brother of Miss Mary Hannah Kennedy, of 23, The Royalty, Sunderland.

Probate gives the same address as his masonic record: KENNEDY William John of 23 The Royalty, Sunderland, died 4 January 1917 at the Sunderland Infirmary Sunderland Probate Durham 1 March to Mary Hannah Kennedy spinster. Effects £248 14s. 11d.
