Marriah Pearson of Piddington
« on: Saturday 03 September 22 23:14 BST (UK) »
Hi
Can anyone please help me?
I've recently seen a family tree which included the birth of Marriah Pearson and also her (Maria) marriage to William Barret around 1810 in Piddington/Horton.

Is this just guess work or are the records available. This has been a brick wall for me for about 20 years.
Thanks people.

Have you contacted the tree owner to check where the info was sourced from?

Have you checked www.familysearch.org

To be honest the answer to both questions is no.
1) I wanted to know if anyone other than the tree owner could find it

2) Familysearch is very unreliable.

I searched for the Piddington parish records in the Northamptonshire archives about 15 years ago and didn't find these records, although I didn't search Horton.
While I was at the archives I was told that transcribers from ancestry had been transcribing Piddington PR's a couple of weeks before I arrived, but these records do not seem to be on ancestry.

George Russell bap 1 January 1781
Goodman bap 10 July 1785  Buried 22 November 1786
Catherine bap 10 July 1785  (does not say they are twins Godman listed first so possibly born 1783/4)

The BT's are often clearer than the PR's

A Geanet Tree has a son Thomas 1784, I don't know where he comes from the only one I can see was bap at All Saints Northampton so not connected to Amos and Mary

There are other families baptizing children during the same time period at Piddington

Peter Pearson and Mary had Michael 1785 and Isbell 1787

John Pearson and Mary had Ebenezer 1781 and Mary 1787

Joseph Pearson and Judith had Charlotte 1801

That's great thank you amondg.
Geanet is where i saw the information, i've been doing this for 20 years and have never come across geanet before.
Some peoples trees leave a lot to be desired, people just like to add names.

So you got your information from Freereg and BT's ?
How did you see them, I've got ancestry and findmypast, I would like to see actual documents whenever possible, don't trust transcriptions.

I was part of the North Bucks team rechecking original transcriptions and although the original transcribers did a fantastic job there were still quite a few errors.

Your help was very much appreciated.

Freereg transcriptions

The images of the actual parish registers and bishops transcripts are on ancestry.
