I'm not sure that that Mary Mansell married, at least not whilst the Register was updated by the NHS!
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

In 1921 she was aged 15 boarding at Maple Cottage, Amington.

Free index has her as Annie Davis. What does the original say?

I thought Elizabeth Davis had died in 1924 aged 72. So William maybe a widow in 1939.

Or, he too could have died by 1939 - he would certainly have been in his late 80's.

Not helping much, am I?

 :) :)

I am just clutching at straws as well. Its quite easy with Elizabeth because it was registered in Tamworth but not a William and its such a common name.

Added there are three in Birmingham S. One in Wolverhampton 1937
