Leominster area - parish record look up
« on: Friday 09 September 22 16:08 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to find if the father of a Flossie Cecelia Taylor b1931 Leominster is listed in the parish records.
Her mother was Gwendoline Lewis.

Many Thanks

Birth registration suggests that she was possibly illegitimate

GRO website
TAYLOR, FLOSSIE  CECILIA     -
GRO Reference: 1931  March Quarter in LEOMINSTER  Volume 06A  Page 704

Freebmd
Births Mar 1931
Taylor    Flossie C    (MMN Taylor)    Leominster    6a   704

Do you have the certificate to confirm where in Leominster RD she was born

When did this person die?  Marriage 1948 but no death found up to 2021 & she & her husband appear on current ER's in another county

RC has a strict no living persons policy

Apologies, yes you are correct. Flossie is still living age 91. I am actually looking on behalf of Flossie as she herself wanted to know if I could find the parish record to try and identify her father.
I was thinking that her father would no longer be living so it would be ok.
Apologies again.

Hi

As more than 24hrs have elapsed you cannot edit your post to remove her name so I have asked the moderator to do it

It is very unlikely that any fathers name would be on a baptism.  Also - you don’t know whether she was actually baptised & if so - which church.

Baptisms could take place at any time following a birth - weeks/months and in some cases years so finding a parish record entry that is not online would entail a physical - and lengthy - search.

I notice you refer to her mother as Lewis - not Taylor.  I can’t see any post 1931 Taylor/Lewis marriage  but mmn on birth reg is Taylor

Hello,
you (or really Flossie) might find a dna test could be helpful in finding the paternal side of her family.
