Bog Castle - Killeens, Killenaule parish.
« on: Monday 12 September 22 08:11 BST (UK) »
Hi all.
Just wondering if anyone had any information on a castle in Killeens townland in Killenaule parish near Lanespark. I think it could have been called Bog Castle and the Spencer family might have owned the land at one stage.
Perhaps someone has a local history book that it is mentioned in?
Thanks, Katharine.

On an 1837-1842 map of the area (Mapgenie 6 Inch First Edition Colour) it shows "Bog Castle (in ruins)".

Struggling to find much more!

Hi. Thanks for replies. Yes, I also have its location and have found that it is marked on a very early map.
