Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for blood relatives of Corporal Thomas Smith - Royal Fusiliers - service no :- 203689 - buried 15/4/1918 - Erith - St John the Baptist Churchyard.

Casualty of the Great War,Thomas served with the 1st Bn.
The Royal Fusiliers~Service No:203689.He was awarded the Medaille Militaire (France).

He was 22 years old and the son of Fred and Jessie Smith of The Orchard, 1 East Rd., Belvedere. He is additionally commemorated on the churchyard war memorial.

The private memorial marking the grave of Corporal Smith no longer provides adequate commemoration, the commission are in the process of producing a new headstone.

Ivy's son was born Dartford, 1929 & married 1956 in Battle, Sussex.
