If Dorothy had health care in the Chester area it could have been altered then regardless as to where she was normally resident

Hi, all,

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I have been away and am only now back online.

Dorothy never lived in Chester. In fact it seems she lived in the same house in Bootle her entire life.

The date in the 1939 Register was wrong (I was able to confirm this) - hence the correction. But the LGD remains a mystery. Maybe it was just someone's initials. It looks like I will never know for certain.

Thanks once again to everybody.

She did not have to have lived in Chester but may have had health consultation / treatment in the area covered by the 'Chester District'.  Much like today patients would not necessarily be treated close to home but in the nearest hospital appropriate to the treatment they needed.  She could also have required medical treatment when away from home, it is anyones guess really  :-\

Don't forget that these amendments were done to the register right up to the early 1990's.
