I have found this record on Ancestry:

John Johnstone m Isabella Tait 28 Jan 1827   Annan, Dumfries

FHL Film Number:   1067955

.......but I cant find a copy on Scotspeople.  Would there be any other place I could look to see this?

Neal is correct. He gave the reference to it in the link. 

If you can't find the record, it would seem that you've misspelled something or you've searched in the wrong set of records.  For pre 1855 records you need to search in the Church Records section.

'FHL Film Number' refers to the Family History Library at familysearch.org where images can be viewed via microfiche/microfilm at libraries/family history centres or sometimes online.
However, the above ref. is not available online...https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog
